Pastor's Update
"Come, Lord Jesus, Come!"
This is the church's prayer in Advent.  We pray that the promised Savior and Lord would come.  Our worship, devotions and thoughts in this holy season of preparation for Christmas focuses upon the coming of Christ in three ways.
  • Christ comes to us as the Christchild and promised Savior at Christmas.  During Advent we prepare our hearts and minds for the celebration of Christmas.  We hear the call of John the Baptizer to prepare the way for the Lord.  We prepare through repentance, faith, newness of life, and prayer.
  • Christ comes to us through his Word.  This is the way in which Christ continually comes to people.  He speaks promises and peace.  He assures us of his abiding presence and gives us hope for the future.
  • Christ will come again on the Last Day.  Our prayer for the Lord to come always includes this thought.  That we strive to stand watchful, waiting and ready for when he comes again to gather his waiting church, his believers, into the everlasting joy of heaven.
Come, Lord Jesus, come!
